1. Why the change from K2 Network to GamersFirst?

In reality there was no change. K2 Network is our corporate entity. GamersFirst is our brand, similar to how War Rock, Sword 2, Knight Online are brands of ours. K2 Network primarily functions as the backbone for many different endeavors. GamersFirst on the other hand is focused primarily on you, the Gamer.

When we talk about our games and our community we are talking about GamersFirst. When we talk about more boring business stuff like HR, Finance and acquisitions we are talking about K2 Network. For us it seemed to make sense to separate the two for our players.


2. What about the clan system, any new updates coming soon?

We are currently working on planning out our next phase for Clan Warfare. This will include the addition of clan types: Free, Normal, Premium and VIP. We spent a large portion of the past few weeks hammering out some bugs and feel we are ready to move to the next portion. We’ll announce more when we are closer to launching it in the next few weeks.


3. What is GamersFirst doing against cheaters / hackers?

A lot, next question. LOL

Seriously though we (GamersFirst) have a dedicated hack team internally (complete with hackers working on hacking the game) so does Dream Execution now. Additionally we have the full support of Ahnlabs. Our hack team focuses on finding hacks and hack sites and reporting them to the authorities, disabling their websites, reporting their programs to Ahnlabs to be blocked and working on new methods to block hacks.

Dream Execution’s team focuses on shoring up their code. Moving functions to the server to stop hacking and finding new methods to stop hacks from working.

Ahnlabs works to block new hacks we find (they update multiple times a week) and disable them on the live servers. It also has some passive protection and extensive reporting on what each one of you are doing while playing our game.

None of that includes the hard work our GM team does on a daily basis going through the servers and banning players for hacking. That is probably the single hardest job we have here. They do all that and answer all of your support ticket and run in-game events. It is without a doubt a LOT of work to do.


4. Does South America (considering Brazil here) have any possibility of being a supported region in the future?

Potentially, we just launched the South America and Middle East servers as a test with the approval of Dream Execution. Depending on how it performs we may pick it up and offer more servers. However, to do so we will need to negotiate a new contract with Dream Execution. So for now everything is theoretical.


5. When is Chapter 3 coming?

Chapter 3 has technically been here since our June patch. I think players saw what DE did with their chapters. Due to the way our version is coded we have never really followed DE’s release schedule at all. The engine overhaul has happened. We will get new items and gear *soon*. We are also planning on releasing a number of new maps and fun (one is already out there ).

6. What’s next for the War Rock Clan Warfare System?

Nemico has been a slacker, as soon as he finishes the text for the book and box we will be sending them to the printers to get printed and shipped. So players should expect to begin seeing them by the end of Summer.


7. What are the banning rules for GamersFirst?

Pretty much you can be banned for not following the rules which are simple. Don’t use profanity or racist comments. Don’t alter game play (i.e. cheat). If you aren’t doing those things you won’t get banned.

Individual bans can have varying durations. Some can be permanent. Some can be temporary. There are a number of circumstances that can change that from how many times you’ve been banned in the past, to the severity of the rule you broke.


8. How old is everyone in the office at GamersFirst?

Our average age is 32. So most of us aren’t that old. Nemico and I are in the middle of the pack so to speak. The oldest person in our office is our CFO, the youngest is the Community Liaison for Knight Online.


9. Any new Maps / Weapons coming soon?

We’ll we just launched a new one of both . Right now we’re working on a new game event for Odyssey and some other fun stuff for this fall. We should have a lot more weapons coming soon as well as several “special” items, one of which you’ll see next month.


10. Permanent 8th slot weapon: GamersFirst injected the 8th slot to unlock the old retail but when it expires, will the player have the 8th slot blocked?

This issue should have been fixed so that once the 8th Slot item expires your permanent weapon will still function.


11. Could it be possible to have a Spanish WR client in the future? Spanish is the second most spoken language, so it could be a good marketing idea.

While worldwide this may be true, in our regions it is not. The next language War Rock is set to be translated in is Italian since we have a massive Italian community. After that it will likely be Arabic. This may not happen until sometime next year but that is what we are discussing with Dream Execution now.


12. Are the E3 EXPO shirts going to be for sale?

We are currently working on a secret project that will include a GamersFirst clothing line… but you didn’t hear that from me. Yes, those shirts will be available in the new clothing line.


13. Is GamersFirst working on any maps of their own?

We’ve been rather mum about this but LevelArtist is no longer on the War Rock team as of June 1st. He is still with GamersFirst and now working on something I cannot yet talk about. At the moment we have not found an adequate replacement for him on our team.


14. War Rock Clan Warfare Collector's Edition was a success. Will there be more promotions like this?

Well we are definitely going to be doing Collector’s Editions for other games. We see our hardcore fans like those. For War Rock, I don’t believe we’ll see another one, at least not in the near future. Dream Execution didn’t like it at all.


15. Can you sell or trade Promocodes?

You may not sell anything regarding War Rock unless you are authorized to do so by us in writing.

You CAN trade codes for other codes, share them with your friends or whatever you’d like. I am specifically speaking of the codes from the G1 Credit Counter promotion. Speaking of which we are currently working on an update to the G1 Credit Counter so that we can more quickly (and regularly) change the codes it distributes. Hopefully we’ll see that update go live in August.
